As part of the first phase of the “Grand Skopje” complex, 35% green space has already been achieved—well above the legal minimum of 20% per construction parcel. This confirms that during planning and execution, “Grand Skopje” adheres to the highest standards, not only for construction but also for humane living in urban environments.

This was emphasized by Leonid Antić, Member of the Management Board of “Grand Skopje”, who presented the vision of the “New Landmark of the City” and its impact on urban development to a large number of professionals and experts from the real estate sector at the Commercial Real Estate Conference held in Skopje.

“The project includes prominent international institutions such as the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the National Bank of Greece, which is our partner in developing their new headquarters for Stopanska Banka AD – Skopje within the Grand Skopje complex. These institutions take ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) goals very seriously, along with eco-initiatives, and are committed to fulfilling them,” said Antić during the “Urbanism and Urban Planning” panel discussion.

Antić presented the urban park which, covering an area of 7,500 m² within the Grand Skopje complex, will offer various recreational and relaxation amenities—not only for the residents but for the whole city.

He added that the park is a donation from “Grand Skopje” and an excellent example of successful cooperation between the investor, the Municipality of Centar, and the City of Skopje.

“In close collaboration with our colleagues from the municipality and the city—specifically the urban planners—we worked diligently on the entire project to ensure it was optimally aligned with the parameters of this urban district,” said Antić.

As Antić explained, “Grand Skopje” is the first project to compensate residents of Novo Maalo in order to rezone private land and create the park.

Environmental protection and adherence to ecological standards are also reflected in the planning and construction of the administrative-business building for Stopanska Banka AD – Skopje. This project is undergoing certification under the prestigious LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) program, a leading standard in sustainable planning and architecture.

“The LEED certification process itself is extensive, large, and complex. Interestingly, when the Grand Skopje project was initially designed, we hadn’t even started this phase, and after construction began, the analysis showed that we already met the LEED standards,” stated architect Ilija Božinovski, Director of MG Fashion, during the “Business Buildings” panel at the Conference.

Božinovski added that this approach to planning and construction positions “Grand Skopje” as a regional leader.

The Commercial Real Estate Conference in Skopje was held for the second consecutive year, organized by “Fortonmka.” “Grand Skopje” was the Prime Sponsor of this year’s edition of the Conference.
