Skopje, 08.06.2022 – Today was the official opening of the shop of the Grand Skopje complex, which has marked the beginning of the sales of the residential and commercial area in the Grand River building, that is first out of the three buildings to be built on this location.

The shop or the so-called Showroom is in the City Shopping Centre on the first floor and is already available for all the interested people from 10 to 6 pm every working day.

In the presence of the media and other guests, the investor presented the whole Grand Skopje complex in detail, as well as the benefits of living in the residential-commercial Grand River building, which is being built at the moment, and where the sale begins.

“The Grand River represents a modern residential-commercial building consisted of three underground levels, a ground floor, and 20 floors. It’s being built in accordance to the highest architectural standards and norms for construction of energy efficient objects,” said Leonid Antikj from MG Fashion, adding that the building is designed to provide maximum comfort to future users, as well to completely use the natural light and the view to the Vardar River and the Vodno mountain.

He explained that the Grand River building, as part of the Grand Skopje complex, offers attractive benefits for its prospective residents, services within their reach, a modern shopping gallery at the centre of the complex, but also a vacation and relaxation area in the city centre, which is provided by the sophisticated urban park thatwill be integral part of Grand Skopje.

Antikj reminded that in the frames of the complex, the investor MG Fashion is also planning a capital investment for landscaping the public area of nearly 7,500 m2 with versatile greenery, alike the world urban parks, and expressed readiness for cooperation with the Municipality of Centar to landscape this area.

Behind the architectural solution of Grand Skopje are the renewed architects Martin Panovski and Jana Gugulovska Gjorgjevikj from Radius Architects, and in front of the present, Panovski said that creating a luxurious complex in the city centre is a great challenge and a big creative motivation for every architect. He said that their goal was to transform the dead area into a contemporary, alive and vibrant city area, full of energy typical for a metropolis centre.

“As expected, the river itself has always represented a special inspiration for us the architects, which can be noticed in the shaping of the Grand River building. But the City Shopping Centre was an even greater inspiration, not as an appearance, but as a concept – a public pedestrian street above which residential-commercial buildings rise. Therefore, we’ve created a complex which includes a public pedestrian commercial street leading into a spacious public space (the planned urban park), with protrusions to the quay of Vardar, and towers oriented towards Vardar and Vodno,” added Martin Panovski, one of the authors of the Grand Skopje project referring to the inspiration for this project.

Since the beginning of building the Grand Skopje complex, there is a selfless support from the locals of Novo Maalo, on whose properties this complex will reside, and whose representatives were also present at today’s event.

In absence of the architect and native resident of Skopje, Vladimir Pota, who at the same time is owner of a property in Novo Maalo, an excerpt of his text had been read, in which he refers to the complex as the new “Downtown” od Skopje, that will unswervingly be created in the 21st century of the capital.

Pota says that this new Downtown will contain all the attributes which belong to it as a contemporary, commercial, residential centre, which will define it, and finally articulate the space we call today the “parking lot in front of Holiday Inn” and the substandard Novo Maalo.
